Unfortunately, IT'S IN THE BAG

Tano Handbags - The best "it" bag your money can buy!

By Debbie Salomon

First, a primer on purses. Unlike other fashion accessories purses serve a purpose while telling a story. The purpose: a portable repository for money and other stuff. The story: women responsible for necessities carry big ones while ladies accompanied by a guy pocketing the car keys, coins, credit cards, handkerchief, pen and LifeSavers get away with a slim little bag for a lipstick, comb and a couple of twenties.

The latest, however, are satchel-sized and weighed down with bling. They are the SUVs of handbags. Not even the mother of twin toddlers needs a bag that big. Empty, they are heavy. Full, they are free weights. Pricewise, the leather ones are outrageous, and cheaper synthetics -- made from fossil fuels, no doubt -- scream fake or some designer's initials, perfect for the I'm-worth-it-look-at-me generation.

Like I said, gas-guzzling Hummers driven by the single parent of 1.2 children who defines off-road as the soccer field parking lot.

Yet their oversize states something else. A woman's needs have changed. She can no longer leave home without a cell phone, sunscreen, water bottle, meal-replacement bar, key ring clacking with preferred customer chips, appointment calendar (electronic or manual), sunglasses, designer reading glasses, Soup-to-Go, hair brush, make-up, ATM card, picture IDs and more.

These bags intended for daytime use despite being gold, pewter, bronze or zebra are secured with shiny metal and rhino-proportioned rhinestones, as if designed for contestants on "Dancing With the Stars," that wildly popular show that diverts American sensibilities from Iraq, global warming and the imminent recession, as did bejeweled flappers dancing the Charleston on the eve of the Great Depression. Their colors -- chrome yellow, azure blue, chive green, magenta, dead white are not intended to match any outfit other than candidate Hillary Clinton's famous suit jackets. Similar colors are worn by Queen Elizabeth II so she can be seen by adoring crowds who at least have universal health care.

Credit the queen and Clinton for keeping color where it counts.

I do see the gaudiness aiding law enforcement: a purse-snatcher wouldn't get far before being apprehended. Nor would a shoplifter.

But personality remains the major roadblock to carrying (off) these objects. I don't have the nerve to show up at the supermarket at 7 a.m. with a bird of paradise draped over my shoulder. I am small, they are big. I am plain, they are fancy. I am frugal, they are exorbitant.

Actually, they are ugly.

They are also desperate. In more secure times, fashion reverts to classics: fine-grained soft leather in natural hues drawstring pouches, envelopes with narrow straps and elegant hardware, satin clutches for evening and awning-striped canvas for July. But today, the tendency is eat, drink and buy wild things for tomorrow we are foreclosed.

Nevertheless, I am not carrying rope-entangled military camouflage or hot-pink faux-croc with chain-link accents and a silver lining, no matter how dark the gathering clouds. And I doubt anybody else will, this time next year.

New money fuels boom in Vietnam

Tano Handbags Hit Vietnam!

from Business Report

Vietnam - In the 1980s, Diep Bach Duong worked for a pittance as a bureaucrat in communist Vietnam. Now, she cruises around in a new Rolls-Royce and carries a Louis Vuitton handbag. While many in Vietnam still live on only a few dollars a day, Duong is a member of the new class of millionaires who have taken advantage of the country's economic boom and are not afraid to put their wealth on display. "When I worked for the state, my opportunities were limited," says Duong, 59, who left government service in the mid-1980s.

"Right away, I got into the real estate business." In 1987, she used about 400 grammes of gold to buy a house and renovate it. When she sold it, she quadrupled her investment and launched an agency. "My clients were a special class of people - very rich Vietnamese sailors," she says, explaining that seamen made their fortunes by re-selling consumer goods bought abroad once they returned home. Duong's business expanded rapidly in southern Ho Chi Minh City, the former Saigon and the country's commercial capital - and she made a tidy profit.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom she has just imported for the impressive sum of $1.3 million is not even her first. She bought one last year but decided it was too small. Duong says her clientele is now more diverse. "Businessmen are buying. But there is also a generation of young rich people." Her success is perhaps not the norm, but with Vietnam's economic growth in 2007 a blistering 8.5 percent, millionaires are no longer rare. 'Vietnamese are not shy about showing off'

No one really knows how many millionaires there are here, as the Vietnamese tend to keep large parts of their assets in cash. But the local press managed to compile a list of the top 100 stock market millionaires. "In Vietnam there are a lot of rich people, like in many other Asian countries," says Andreas Klingler, who has just opened an office here for German luxury sports car maker Porsche. "The market is still very, very small," he told AFP, but added: "With the boom Vietnam is seeing - the GDP growth, the growth in foreign direct investment, its WTO entry - we decided there could be long-term potential."

Klingler says his clients range in age from 20 to 60, even though taxes make the cars twice as expensive as they are in Europe. Since November, he says, he has sold more than 15 sports cars. "The Vietnamese are not shy about showing off, using all these luxury products," he says. "It's not just Porsche - Rolls-Royce and Bentley are here too." In both Ho Chi Minh City and the capital Hanoi luxury clothing, cosmetics and leather goods shops are cropping up everywhere even though Vietnam's per capita GDP is less than $900.

"We've seen this transition in other countries in the region - the countries may have relatively low average incomes but some people have money and they like to spend it," says Jonathan Pincus, an economist for the UN Development Programme. "Throughout the region, when people do well they like to spend on luxury goods," he said. "The producers know that quite well and when they see a market opportunity in a new emerging Asian country you better believe they'll be there quickly.

"They know they have a steep upward trajectory here as Vietnamese people make more money." Duong refuses to say how much she is worth but she isn't shy about displaying the designer handbags, mobile phones and other accessories she owns. Last year, when Louis Vuitton opened a boutique in Ho Chi Minh City, she says she spent about $30,000 on bags, umbrellas and suitcases. Slinging her handbag over her shoulder, the one-time civil servant quips: "I've got dozens of these." - AFP

Victoria's square deal for a £2,500 handbag

from belfast telegraph
So, the long wait is over at last and to great hype, as well as assorted oohs and aahs from members of Belfast's new glitterati (yeuch), Victoria Square has finally opened for business.

We now have the following 'shops' at our disposal:

- A large English based department store whose main boast seems to be the fact that they have the largest selection of 'designer' handbags costing hundreds, and in some cases thousands, of pounds.

- Another three mobile phone shops to go with the existing 11 that we already have in the Royal Avenue/Donegall Place area alone.

- Yet another baseball cap/trainer shop.

- Numerous designer clothes shops selling £50 T-shirts to young people too stupid and peer-pressured to know any better.

- A teddy bear shop - just in case the people of Belfast haven't got enough dust gatherers in their homes already.

Apparently, one of the handbags on sale costs £2,500. What kind of vain and stupid person would pay £2,500 for a handbag? More importantly, perhaps someone could explain to me why Belfast is somehow better off by the fact that we have a centre selling such items. All this has left me with a strange sense of nostalgia for 1970s Belfast. Ok, things may have been a bit grim and we didn't have very many shops, but at least those we did have sold things that the average person wanted to buy and was able to afford. So, come back Woolworths, LeisureWorld (now that was a toyshop), Anderson & McAuleys, C&A etc - all is forgiven!

TANO handbags - going back in time

In 2006, the Tano bag website had a section called "Core." Here's an excerpt from the Core of the Tano Handbag company taken directly from the Tano website in 2006.

Tano's Modernist Roots

When Sebastian "Tano" Giner was just learning to crawl in the rural mountain village of Murla, Spain the Modernist era was exploding with creativity and excitement in world's big cites. The Modernists were turing the arts inside out...architecture, dance, literature, music, painting, and fashion. "Make it new," said Ezra Pound the great Modernist poet, and the artistic visionaries of the era followed his call.

The origins. Local basket makers gather outside the chalet of Sebastian "Tano" Giner. 1912.

One inspired visionary was Sebastian Giner, a scholar who paid his way through school as an artisan basket maker. By day he and a group of local villagers turned out handmade baskets made from cuttings of dried native grape vines. By night he studied the works of the modernists and economic theory of the industrial revolution. The region's farmers used his baskes to gather fruits and vegetables. The designs were well balanced, sturdy, proportional, a perfect meeting of form and function. They had to be. Sebastian was a demanding perfectionist. So much so that he earned himself the nickname "Tano" or perfectionist in the local catalan dialect.

True to the modernist spirit, when the first electric sewing machines arrived in Spain Tano was the first harness the technology and apply it to his craft. He expanded his product range to burlap sacks. The well proportioned bags were later adorned with leather handles and became a local fashion favorite. In time, Tano bags along with espadrilles from the neighboring city of Elche, would become the standard dress code in the region and later throughout Spain and Europe.

Tano's vision became one of innovation and discovery in handbags through shape, material, and color. Each new season brought renewed creativity and an expanding audience that couldn't get enough. In 1960, he turned the operations over to his two sons, Sebastian and Peter to fulfill his bold new vision. Together they opened the first modern handbag production line in Europe, Tano Iberica of Madrid. The brothers invested in new technologies at each opportunity so that they could quickly turn their artistic ideas into bags their audience could enjoy. The factory won the praises of the Spanish Export Council and earned recognition as Spain's largest and highest quality exporter of sewn goods during the 1960's and 1970's. The factory became the model which handbag factories around the globe would follow.

In 2002, the company entered it's third generation of family management. Grandson's Steve and Seb, took over the reigns, bringing with them a colorful past of handbag innovation and leadership. Says Steve of the company's future "We hold our company's past in the highest esteem. But ironically we must have a certain irreverence for all things past. This is how we keep our bags fresh. This was an integral piece of our grandfather's vision. We need to keep making it new."

Beautiful Authentic Designer Handbags

TANO designer handbag 3724 obama mama large leather shoulder bag tote designer purse brown
Published by vivbag

Imagine buying your dream bag, the purse you have wanted for so long, now you want to show off this beauty to your friends. They are all excited and a bit jealous, however someone notes that your handbag is not the real deal. Now all your friends are walking around with authentic designer handbags and you are stuck with a cheap replica and worst of all you paid a lot of money for it. These days you have to be careful and make sure you get the accessories you paid for.

The easiest and safest would be to buy the handbag from an authorized dealer. If these places would not sell authentic designer handbags a lot of people would be complaining and problems would follow, you have to remember these companies have to maintain their reputation and good ethics.

You can always visit the retail outlets, but lets be honest it is easier and much more convenient to visit a website which carries a large number of designer goods, than the exhausting ordeal of you running through all these stores, hunting down the perfect bag that is in fashion. The same rule applies to the websites; just make sure they have a good reputation.

There are a lot of woman who visit eBay to find a good deal on that special authentic designer handbag. The problem is that you cannot decide authenticity from a picture and why would someone sell a designers handbag for less than retail price, wouldn’t they be making a loss?

If you are new to shopping for designer handbags rather stay away from eBay, because this is where a lot of uninformed women get shammed. There are some good and honest deals; however determining authenticity is difficult, because some of the replicas are very similar to the authentic bags, sometimes even for the more informed ladies.

In general you should inspect the handbag and have a look inside and outside for any flaws, like uneven stitching, a residue of glue, irregular spacing of the designer logo, if it is leather smell the bag and if you sense a chemical smell its fake, authentication cards are also replicated so this offers no proof.

At the end it would be best avoiding situations where you are not hundred percent sure and only buy from reputable places. It is wonderful having real authentic designer handbags which are in fashion, thus take your time and make an informed decision, because you want what you pay for.

Who will you be wearing? At Handbags Boutique we have a range of Designers Handbags which will add luxury and style to your wardrobe. We know what an important role Authentic Designer Handbags play in a woman’s life.

Choose the Right Bag for Your Body

Tano Handbags ..... One Size Fits All!
From Cynthia Nellis,
Your Guide to Women's Fashion.

No More Unflattering Lengths or Sizes!
You probably don't give handbags the same scrutiny you give a pair of jeans: if a handbag is cute or fits your lifestyle then it works. But did you know that a handbag can flatter your shape almost as much as the right pair of jeans? Apply these easy steps to getting bag in proportion to your figure. It can not only knock off pounds visually (no kidding!), it'll polish up your style in a flash.

Shapes
Try to choose a shape that is the opposite of your body type. If you are tall and thin, look for a slouchy, rounded hobo bag to compliment your figure. If you're short and voluptous, play off opposites by choosing a handbag that is tall and rectangular or long and sleek (like a clutch). In general, the rounder your figure, the more structured your bag should be. That doesn't mean that you have to carry a hard box around to counterbalance your womanly shape: rectangular or square silhouettes in soft leathers or fabrics will do the trick.

Hobo bag - A crescent-shaped shoulder bag.

Duffle - Shoulderbag, often with a wider opening on top.

Field bag - A flap-top shoulderbag with utility-type closure (buckles, snaps, etc).

Scale
While the shape should oppose your body type for maximum flattery, the size of the bag should be in proportion to your figure.Think scale here: a woman who is 6 feet tall and a size 14 would look lost with a teensy hand-held bag. A petite size 0 would look overwhelmed by an enormous slouchy bag. A shoulder bag's length (where the bottom of the bag hits your body) will accentuate whatever part of the body it comes near. For example, a shoulder bag that ends around the hips will play up your hip width (the eye is drawn to the bag). Most women look great with a bag that hits mid-torso because it flatters the waist.

Tips
Take time just like you would apparel. Don't be tempted by trendy shapes that don't suit your figure: there are plenty of great alternatives that will work. Think lifestyle when shopping for handbags: if you're toting diapers and graham crackers, an artsy vintage bag won't hold up.

TANO Handbags & Purses are the rage!

Our new addiction is "Tano Handbags and Purses" and expressed by this blog, it's no secret. We love Tano leather bags. In today's handbag world, prices are out of this world! But, Tano remains affordable and very desirable. The average cost of a high-end designer purse these days is about $3000. The average cost of a Tano Italian leather handbag is about $170. Compare apples to oranges and all you are paying for in a $3000 bag is the name. Of course quality and workmanship are somewhat better, but in the long run, the price you pay for a Tano handbag is well worth the investment.

Tano handbag measures about 20 x 10 x 6 inches with double handle straps about 16 inches each. This is a brand new Tano bag style this season. It's gorgeous all leather. Complimentary metallic distressed leather trim. Fully lined. Extra storage pockets. Full zip top closures.

TANO designer handbag 3698 sealed with a kiss metallic leather clutch bag bronze.

Distressed metallic leather. A very modern look and contemporary style and design. Opens wide from the front and neatly closes or seals with a secure snap button closure. The Tano handbag designer purse measures approximately 12 W x 5.75 H with a 1 inch depth. Zippered pocket and slots for 8 credit cards. Fully lined interior.

The 2008 dinosaur: A discount designer handbag

Shop eFashionHouse.com for the best selection of Tano Handbags online.
by Anna Miller

It used to be available at the click of a mouse. Logon to your favorite search engine, type in the words discount designer handbag and become thrilled with an endless list of online resources for authentic designer fashion at discount prices. Discount designer handbags are becoming a thing of the past. That is, authentic high end designer purses are costing more and more every year. You may still be able to pay a few hundred dollars for a good fake bag, but authentic designer handbags are no longer a bargain.

Names like Chanel, Gucci, Fendi, Prada, Dior, Tods, etc. are considered the fashion bag icons, and in 2005, the average cost of one of these high end fashion bags was $2000 each. Since that time, the average cost has increased to about $3000 or more each. Fashionistas worldwide ask, "When is this going to stop?" Is it really fair to charge such a high price for a purse? Is it smart for the Designers to do price their items at unobtainable costs? The average woman, working an average job, making an average salary, supporting an average family can't pay $3000 for a new purse! But, nonetheless, she dreams about it, and probably even sheds a tear or two because she can't get the designer purse she wants.

The department stores are getting smarter, too. They don't overstock high end designer handbags making them a demand item vs. leftovers after the season ends. Sales are far and few in between. In 2006 and 2007 many stores had sales before December 25th with NO leftovers during the true Sale Season. Consumers are paying premium prices for leather, a logo, monogram and a designer name. They fear not getting what they want if they wait for a Sale!

Most people hate fakes and counterfeit merchandise, but the business is booming because the authentic merchandise is too expensive. Stores like Target and a few others are smart. They are featuring Designers to produce low-cost fashion merchandise to help circumvent counterfeiting. Let us hope this works. Counterfeiting is bad. More stores should follow in the footsteps of Target and offer low cost designer products.

The manufacturing costs and the increased value of the Euro have definitely influenced the cost of designer fashion handbags. If an item is made from Italian leather and manufactured in Italy, the cost is high. If the same item is made of Italian leather and manufactured (or assembled) in another country the final cost is lower. When we look at the items we want and compare prices we need to take the manufacturing process into consideration. Many people do not want a Burberry bag assembled in China. They want the same bag assembled (or made) in England. They don't realize the cost of the bag made in England has a much higher price tag than the exact same bag made in China.

Get ready for 2008. If you are a designer handbag addict like many of us are proud to proclaim, get ready to pay a higher price for a new purse in 2008. You may still be able to find the purse of your dreams at an off-retail price, but the price won't be as low as you have paid in the past.

If you purchase only authentic merchandise, there are online resources to fulfill your needs. When shopping online, look for a website with longevity and fast replies to emails. Ask questions before you buy. Many of the lower priced items are scarce or limited in availability. When you see something you want, don't wait too long to make a purchase or it may not be available the next time you visit the website.

Be careful not to fall prey to websites selling counterfeit designer handbags. Many of the sites say they are authentic, but they aren't. If you see a site selling current collection items at half price, please be careful. There is no way anyone (even the Designer) can sell their designer bags at half price.

If you are looking for a good price and need guidance, ask for help. If you are planning to purchase authentic designer handbags in 2008, plan to shop around for below retail prices. They will still be available, but not as easy to find as they were in the past.

Designer Handbags: A Woman's Best Friend

Tano Handbag style 3539

by Remoov
A woman is never alone. She always has her handbag with her. In fact, a woman shouldn’t be without her handbag, ever. The handbag has a long and interesting story to tell. It might have started off as a convenient way of carrying things around, but it is now one of the most important elements of a woman’s attire. A handbag dignifies a lady. It is usually her signature. Something she can easily flaunt. And obviously the best handbags to shoe-off are designer handbags.

Designer handbags come in all shapes and sizes. They may be the weirdest looking or maybe the cutest, but they are always stylish. Prada handbags are considered to be something without which a modern stylish lady is incomplete. It’s something not for the faint-hearted. They portray a very dynamic and bold image.

On the other hand Gucci handbags are usually considered very graceful and they compliment a mature and elegant look. But don’t mistakenly think that its for old ladies only. Charm is not restricted by age. So Gucci handbags are for everyone. They are timeless in their own right.

But its not always when everyone has to be elegant, or bold. There should be something for the sporty types. And for all such people, Prada sport bags are the best choice. Trend, glamour, dynamism it’s all there.

Blog Editor's Comment: Prada, Gucci, Fendi, and all the high-end designer handbags come with a hefty price tag, too. If you want to be in style and still stay within budget, look at the Tano Handbags available at ValueBags and BrandsBoutique. Tano handbags are affordable and made of Italian leathers. They range in price, style, size and color.
A picture of one of the latest Tano Handbag designs is photographed above. Price? Under $200.

Many of us witness the growth and transformation the Tano company has made over the past 20-30 years.

We love Tano handbags because they are versatile, multi-functional, made extremely well and affordable. Aside from all the obvious practical reasons we love Tano purses, a Tano bag is made of Italian leather and available in a variety of sizes and colors.

The above bag is made from a distressed light weight leather. It is characteristic of many of the Tano bags available, roomy, fully lined and lots of extra pockets for storage.
